Once again Raj Palace wins the Award for the World’ Best Heritage Hotel, 2008-09’ at the World Travel Awards!
In a sterling repeat performance, The Raj Palace once again awarded as the World’s Best Heritage Hotel, 2008-09’, an award they had earlier won in 2008.
The Trophy was formally handed over to the Raj Palace representative on 2nd December 2008 by Graham Cooke, President & Founder, World Travel Awards at the 15th Annual World Gala Ceremony held at the beautiful Caribbean Islands of the Turks and Caicos. Other nominees in this prestigious category included the likes of Raffles Singapore, Taj Lake Palace, The Ritz London, The Ritz Paris and Umaid Bhawan Palace.
Earlier, The Raj Palace had won the National Tourism Award 2007 for “Best Heritage Hotel in India” and also the hotel’s Durbar Suite has been conferred as Asia’s leading suite in the World Travel Awards Asia Category, 2008.
World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and prestigious award programs in the global travel industry. It is popularly known as the Travel Industry’s Oscars. 167000 travel professionals worldwide including 110000 travel agents conducted the voting. Dedicated travel professionals and their clients have come to regard the World Travel Awards as the best endorsement that any travel product could receive.
The Raj Palace is also a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. It is the only Palace Hotel in India to make it to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
The Restaurant and Bars were voted as one of the best in the world at the 32nd International Awards for Hotel and Catering at Fitur Spain by the American travel association
The award for ‘The Best Heritage Hotel’ once again reaffirms the fact that if one is looking for the best luxury hotel of India with a true Indian Royal Palace flavour, then this is the place.

The Durbar Suite of the hotel has been conferred as Asia’s Leading Suite at the World Travel Awards.The Trophy was received by Raj Palace at midnight on 19th June at a glitzy ceremony at Shanghai.

The voting was conducted among 167000 travel professionals worldwide including 110000 travel agents. Dedicated travel professionals and their clients have come to regard the World Travel Awards as the best endorsement that any travel product can receive.
THE DURBAR MAHAL SUITE- Private Quarter of the Kings.
The Durbar Mahal Suite used by the ruler himself overlooks the inner courts of the palace and the Charbagh Garden. It is an opulent combination of a double-height reception room with vaulted apartments intended as a sleeping chamber for the Thakur Sahib. Its luxurious ornamentation includes Gold leafed painted walls, Stucco and mirror work, with Overhanging Jharokas. The furniture is in gold and silver. The Highlight of the Suite is a private museum displaying the Old Throne and Bolsters of The Thakur Sahib.
RAJ PALACE

The Raj Palace wins the World travel award and the National tourism award for the best heritage hotel

Press ReleasePress Release 27th February 2008Jaipur, Febuary 27, 2008: The National Tourism Awards for 2006-2007 were announced and presented on 27th Febuary 2008 At a function at Vigyan Bhawan, Plenary Hall, the External Affairs Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee gave away the awards. The Minister of Tourism & Culture Smt. Ambika Soni presided over the function. MS ANKUR RARA ( General Manager The Raj Palace ) and MR. Jagdish Bhist ( Financial controller The Raj Palace ) received the award for The Raj Palace in the category of "Best Heritage Hotel in India" .

Jaipur, December 17, 2007: Jaipur's night sky burst into a thousand bursts of fireworks as Smt Vasundhara Raje, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, turned the spotlight on The Raj Palace when she unveiled the World's Leading Luxury Heritage Hotel Award received by the hotel in the Caribbean on December 12 at The World Travel Awards ceremony. Addressing a very select gathering of the travel industry's who's who and national and travel media, Smt Raje said, "By going where no Indian hotel has gone before, the Raj Palace had done the country and, indeed, the State proud. This Oscar of the travel industry award for 'The Leading and the Best Heritage Hotel in the World' has not only added a feather in our cap but also put India's hospitality sector on the global map for the first time," she further said while felicitating Shri Arun Puri, Managing Director of GKV Hotels Pvt. Ltd, which owns the property. Thanking the Chief Minister, Arun Puri said, "This highest recognition and honour for the travel fraternity would not have been possible without the support of the Government of Rajasthan and the dynamic Incredible India! campaign that has been tremendously instrumental in capturing the world's attention." Going on, he said, "the award would have been unachievable without my wife, Jayendra Kumari's brave imagination and vision, which has catapulted us to this height." The trophy, which arrived in the city on December 16, 2007, has been attracting big trade and media attention. A representative from The Raj Palace had received the leading international award in a glitzy ceremony on December 12 when 330 travel professionals representatives, VIPs as well as international media from 30 countries from across the globe converged on the Caribbean island of Providenciales, Turks & Caicos for the 14th Annual World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony where this year's world winners were finally crowned.The Raj Palace was voted the 'World's Best' by 167,000 travel professionals worldwide, including 110,000 travel agents. This accolade has come to India for the very first time in this category. Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the "Travel Industry's Oscars", the World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and prestigious awards programme in the global travel industry today.
